We were in Vegas for the holidays and I decided to do a quick search of cheap eats and to try something new.  To my surprise, I found Flock & Fowl that offers Hainan Chicken! It's been a while since I last went to Savoy Kitchen in San Gabriel Valley, so it was time to eat Hainan Chicken again.  =D
They only recently opened and the word has definitely gotten out.  It's a small joint near Capriotti's with limited seating and no bathroom.  We waited patiently for a table.  It was quite funny to see a group of Asians eating on their car because they probably didn't want to wait and had a big party.  Not a bad idea!
The owner/chef was very friendly and accommodating.  They talked to their patrons as much as they could to find out how they learned about their place and if they liked the food.
We wanted to try their chicken wings.  I had read online that they had spicy chicken wings but as they just opened, they are testing different flavors for the wings.  When we went, they offered the Thai Caramel Chicken Wings with Crispy Garlic.  The wings were very sweet and packed a lot of flavor.  I like sweets but I know Ms. Lin Guide is never a big fan.  They were nicely fried and juicy.
The reason why I came was to try their Hainanese Chicken Rice.  It's 1/4th of Mary's free range chicken deboned with the ginger scallion sauce, house made chili, and house made soy.  Here you can add sides onto your order as well.  We decided to add Chinese Sausage and Chicken Broth.  Both are good by itself or topped onto the chicken and rice.  The chicken was tender and flavorful with all the sauce.  I didn't feel like the sausage really complimented the chicken as I am a purist, but still good to eat.
I also wanted to try the Night Market Fried Chicken Bao.  Inside is a 5 spice buttermilk fried chicken with kale pea sprout sesame slaw inside a guo bao bun.  The chicken was tender and juicy.  It came out piping hot.  I wish it had more flavor or a sauce on top to enhance it.  This was just so so to me, but you do get a nice chunk of chicken inside.
All in all it was a tasty place and great find for something different in Vegas.  I would go back but I must warn you that it actually turned out not to be a cheap eats place as our bill for 3 people was close to or over $50.  Ms. Lin Guide and I discussed that it is probably because they use higher quality items like Mary's free range chicken, which I do really like.  So if you are in Vegas and love Hainan Chicken Rice, I'd recommend a quick stop here to compare.  =D
