I'm finally back from my travelling too! Waiting to go on some food adventures! I was in Phoenix and the revolving restaurant was ok but the creme brulee was yummy (not too hard to please me with creme brulee though as long as the top is crunchy)! Then I flew into Oakland on Sunday and had lunch with Bumblebee at Asia de Cuba SF and as you might already know, Bumblebee was sorely disappointed. I had the Lobster Club and I thought it was delicious so I'm ok but she was sorely disappointed at her Butterfish. We went to a bakery in Burlingame that was pretty good (Princess cake, Raspberry and Apricot thumbprints were highlights, eclaire was good too). Then I had a training on Monday in Petaluma (1 hour north of SF) so I drove up there Sunday night, then flew back last night. Worked all day today...phew...when are you coming up to LA?

Wow! That's a whole lot of traveling! Yah I was getting sort of confused because I thought you were in Arizona, but then I heard Ms. BumbleBee call Ms. Lin. Aww that is too bad that she did not enjoy it. The Asia de Cuba in SF did not look that great. I really liked the amount of lobster they gave in the Lobster Club, but the edamame and black beans was not good. I had a feeling that they would not measure up with the one in LA, but then again maybe the Lobster Club won't be as good in LA as well. Although I don't remember seeing that on their menu, but if it is there then I will definitely go!!! ^_^ I also want to try their White Sangrias because it looked so good! I got it at the SF location and it was DISAPPOINTING >_<###

I am glad you enjoyed your dessert though! ^_^ Hopefully your trip was nice in Arizona and up North. It's nice to be back home too though! I was planning to come up to LA today but I am too exhausted from traveling so maybe sometime mid-next week? You are always welcome to come down! ^_- There are some dining specials in Costa Mesa where it's 4 courses for $40 right now at these nice restaurants. That's where I will be going Weds night now instead of LA. If I do come up to LA, I will definitely let you know! ^_^

Any more trips coming up?

But your Lobster Club on your pictures looked better than mine. Yours had more whole pieces and mine was more shredded though it was still tasty. I don't even regularly like lobster. I am actually going up north again the last weekend of August with my family if you happen to be up there too! Why not come up to LA? I will actually be in the city of Orange today, anything good out there?

Aww that's is too bad that they didn't load the sandwich with lobster! BOOO on them! That's the ONLY thing I liked at the SF location. I definitely think the LA one is much better tasting but the service was lacking. I am glad you still enjoyed it. Too bad you don't like lobsters! I am planning to go to Lobster Festival again in Redondo Beach at the end of September. ^_^

Wow, Bay Area again! So Lucky!! >_<# I am so envious!! Next time we should take a road trip up and all of us can hang out. Oh the havoc we would cause. O=9

Hmmm food in Orange... it depends where in Orange you are at. Some fun places are like Shin Sen Gumi in Fountain Valley or delicious Korean BBQ if you are near that area. Then there is always a lot of great food in South Coast, which is where I will be for dinner tonight! ^_^ You are more than welcome to join me for dinner. There are a lot of 4 courses for $40 dinner deals at very nice restaurants in SC. It's close to Santa Ana, if you have not been before. If you want sushi there is Ikko and Sushi Murasaki, which are both on my site. Then there is Maestro's that has really good rack of lamb, which can cost an arm and a leg. Of course if you are "working" and can expense the dinner... then I say go there! ^_- Seafood Tower! I have always wanted to try it, but I am not shelling out the dough. lol

Okay, I will try to organize an LA trip. Tonight at dinner I will force Tofu to commit to a day and we will go up. I think the first time we head up it will be a cheap day in Monterey Park! ^_^ Would that be something that interests you? Most likely I will stay around the 10 freeway and give him a more Asian tour.

Monterey Park sounds GREAT! I actually didn't go to Orange today because I'm sooo tired and I have a lot of catch up so I changed the appt to next week, yay! South Coast...mmmm. I should try Ikko one of these days, there's one right by my house in Torrance, you should check out Torrance, lots of good food here, I just haven't explored much because my family like MY cooking but who's going to cook for ME? Thursday, Friday and Saturday & Sunday nights are not good for me but if you tell me early enough (like more than 3 days) I should be able to meet up Mon, Tues or Wed nights.

Aww poor HoneyBee! You need to rest in your hive. See you should have cooked badly from the beginning and then they would never ask you to cook. It's all about strategy! ^_- Bad Cooking = Eating Out lol

The South Coast dining was actually pretty nice and I wish you could have come to try it. Oddly, I will be heading up to Monterey Park tomorrow morning for a quick facial and such with a friend so we won't be able to meet up. During dinner tonight I made Tofu commit to a date. I think we will be going up to Monterey Park on Monday or Wednesday, but it looks like Monday for now. If you are free and it's early enough, it would be great to have you join us! ^_^

Most likely we'd eat dinner at YunChuan Garden for dinner. Got to get the DELICIOUS spicy wontons in hot chili oil! YUM!

Monday should be good!!! I'm drooling already! Do you have Bumblebee's email? Can you email her your cell phone number? I'll also email her so she can email Ms. Lin my cell number to you...ha ha!

Hi again! Monday is good for me (I got clearance from hubby ;)). BUT do you think it's ok if we go to a different restaurant? It's a long story but I have bad memories at that particular restaurant. I'll tell you more when we meet up.

Kat said...

Oh no! You don't like them? I guess I will try to work out eating there with Tofu before you come. What time did you want to meet? I actually just ate there today again.

Have you ever been to Newport Tan Cang? The lobster there is to die for IMHO. It's expensive, but delicious. I usually go to lunch because the prices are always much better. Any way you can sneak out for two meals? lol **I am a bad influence** O=)

I think Ms. Lin's already asleep now, but the next time I talk to her I will tell her to e-mail BumbleBee my cell number. ^_^ I believe she has my e-mail addy already.

No no, I love the food at that restaurant, it's just that I went there with someone I don't care to remember, thinking of those times makes me a little sick to my stomach. I could go to "overwrite" past memories if you really wanna go.

I have not been to Newport Tan Cang so I'm totally open! But if we can stay within $25/person, that would be preferable, so hubby doesn't think every time I go out alone, I'm "splurging". Mr. Honeybee is quite a thrifty man trying not to give him a heart attack..haha. Bumblebee has already forwarded my email to you to Ms. Lin so now Ms. Lin just needs to forward to you then we can start emailing/calling each other.

I can probably be in Monterey Park between 6:30-7pm on Monday.
